Strong metal pole to hold the umbrella and thick plastic base that feels very well made. Very simple to put together with the provided allen-wrench, just took time to make sure it was very tight. Got it for my neighbor's umbrella. Make sure you have it where you want it before filling it. It is unfilled at the moment and yet still has helped the umbrella stay stable. I like the look of it and that it can be used with or without a table. I really like the idea that if you have another long pole items that it can be used for those as well.
