Affordable protection plan and superb customer care
I usually donโt buy extended warranty, but I took a chance and added a 4-year Asurion Protection Plan to my purchase of a Canon PIXMA printer. So glad I did!! After only a year and a half, my printer showed an error message 6800. Cannon website states โSupport code 6800 generally indicates a failure with the logic board on your printer. Service will be required.โ How convenient for that to happen shortly out of Canonโs regular 1-year warranty (๐). I called Canon. Long story shortโฆthey couldnโt do anything for me unless I purchase a warranty plan from them and they send me a replacement or I would need to pay for a repair. No thanks. I called Asurion and talked to a very nice tech support person. She couldnโt get rid of the error message remotely, so she transferred me to another very nice support specialist, who helped me start a repair claim. Asurion mailed me a box with a lot of packing material, along with shipping instructions and label to ship my printer to them for free. A few days into the repair process, they determined my Canon printer was unrepairable and they emailed me an Amazon gift card that same day for the cost of my crappy Canon printer. They were in total communication via email throughout the repair process. I highly recommend Asurion, and I would definitely purchase another protection plan from them again.
