1997 PRS Santana 1For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1997 PRS Santana 1. Beginning in 1995 PRS reproduced Carlos Santanas original PRS that Paul made for him in the early 1980s that literally put PRS on the map. It featured a Pre 85 body shape and headstock (with eagle inlay) a 24 1 4 scale, 24 frets with a 11. 5 radius fretboard, bird inlays, maple top with paua shell purfling, two Santana humbuckers, a tone knob and twin mini switches. Ran this for 5k and did oil analysis. It performed identically to Mobil 1 ESP 5w30. No issues, stayed in grade, nothing negative. That said, it was no better than ESP and wear metals were functionally the same as multiple other similar rated oils. It’s perfectly fine, but not better. It’s a great value. I wouldn’t use it for extended oil change intervals. No oil consumption noted.
