This herbaceous perennial is clump forming, its scalloped green foliage and stems are covered in tiny hairs and emit a slight scent, reminiscent of honey. The flowers are orchid like, with a white upper lip and a dark purple lower lip acting as a landing strip for bees, which love this nectar pollen rich flower.
