god, this book was so refreshing! as i’m sure any sapphic book enthusiast who also shares a love for women’s soccer (sorry, i’m american) would agree! it was incredibly well-written and teeming with swoon-worthy moments as well as plenty of wonderfully accurate depictions of the women’s game. and i have to say, as a USWNT and arsenal fan, the fact that this book and its characters had me rooting for england and a london-based team that weren’t my gunners is just a testament to how good it actually is (as only leah williamson can get me to pull for the lionesses in un-patriotic enthusiasm). seriously, read this book! it’s wonderful!

Clare Lydon does it again. The inclusion of the royal family dynamics combined with the use of infamous landmarks like Balmoral Castle and Buckingham Palace were exquisite.
