The I Beam features extensive external machining, the design is visually appealing yet stiff and strong. The CNC machined and embossed Crupi logo on the faceplate gives this stem it's unique look. These are sturdy and thick. They held a steak and baked potato tonight just fine - did this to try sturdiness and leak. It is one of the best paper plates I've found, so I highly recommend. I got the blue pattern and they're beautiful. By the way, these are big paper plates, not the little thin ones-- sturdy.
