British 1897 3 Pdr Brass Shell CaseThis 1897 Naval Case is in good condition for its age; slight neck cracks and two minor dings. Further cleaning required. Markings include: II*; A in a circle; 2 x punch marks; 1 in a circle; 3 N 97; C. F F F. The Primer is a No 2 III, dated 3 14. The Mk II* is a conversion from Mk II from a push in primer to a screw in primer ; 3 N 97 signifying manufacture date of March 1897 and N for Naval use. Its been re filled and re used at least twice.
