Mushroom Log - ShiitakeThis shiitake log is made from red oak and stands about a foot high with a diameter of approximately 5 inches. It is pre inoculated and will begin to friut spontaneously within 9 to 12 months after the initial inoculation date on the tag. You can also "shock" it by following the instruction included with the log, and force it to begin fruiting sooner. It will produce several fruitings a year for several years. I gave it 4 stars ONLY because I've had the nozzle break on at least 1 of these. So they could improve the way it sprays, but overall I'm very happy with the product. It keeps my whole family from getting burned and goes on clear. I love this because my kids always complain that they don't like the whitecast, so this one is a keeper!
