I can't comment on how well it holds up to heavy chewing as my Jackshund (Francie) doesn't seem interested in it...possibly because it does not have a squeaker... It is a good size, not soft and squishy but harder (rope), which is why I purchased it, hoping it would last longer than some other dog toys that Francie has ripped apart.
