Don't Give Up The Ship Tee"Don't Give Up the Ship" is a historic U. S. Navy rallying cry stemming from Captain James Lawrences final words on June 1, 1813, during the War of 1812. Mortally wounded aboard the USS Chesapeake, Lawrence ordered his men to keep fighting. I saw one of these flags last summer when I had a million thoughts rambling through my brain. Lilias Trotter is one of my favorite authors. It is my own fault that I didn't read the title careful enough to realize that it's the authors own personal thoughts about things Lilias said or painted that is the main content of the book. She's a good writer and I appreciate her personal reflections, but it's not what I assumed. The printing is well done and it's always a gift to see Lilias artwork

Beautiful gift book.

Format: Paperback

The quotes stimulate me to journal my own thoughts. I bought one for myself and one for a friend. It would make a nice pairing with her biography, “Until the Day Breaks”.

Beautiful!

Format: Paperback

I have just discovered Lilias Trotter and her writings and paintings. Beautiful watercolors evoking all aspects of her life especially spent in Africa are on each page with a snippet of a quote from her writings. Even without journaling, it's pleasure to page through admiring her wonderful talent and Godly perspective.

Beautiful Journal Type of book

Format: Paperback

As my friend said when she opened it...it's so beautiful, I don't want to write in it! Just a paperback type of journal, but for Lilias Trotter admirers, it's a treasure.

This artist of faith has a very inspiring and uplifting story.

Format: Paperback

This book was a gift to a family member. The family member was not only touched by the thoughtfulness but by the story and art in this little book. Lilias Trotter was a remarkable woman of true, deep faith and made a difference in so many lives. We could all learn from her example and be inspired by her commitment to the people whose lives she touched. Recommend this book for artists and born again believers alike. God is in the details!
