Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and resist corrosion. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. This clutch is very pretty. Definitely a "going out" to an event clutch/bag. The silver handle and chain are beautiful. My only struggle is the size. You cannot fit a lot of stuff in here. But, this would be a "special event" bag, so, you really aren't going to walk around with your every day necessities in this bag. You can fit a cell phone, lipstick, a super slim credit card holder, that hold a credit card/s and bank card/s. If you try to put more things in here, it will not close. I do still recommend 100%. It's a really, really pretty bag.
